Today from 100 years ago the first Egyptian National shots were taken in Alexandria and guess for what , for the visit of the Khedive Abbas Halmi the second "the ruler factor ,oh boy it is historical" , the famous Khedive who went and didn't return back to liberate Egypt till now was opening the scientific institute in the Morsi Abu Al-Abbas famous Mosque in Alexandria and since then the Egyptian Cameras started and never stopped rolling in thank God
But just for the record this wasn't the first time Egypt saw a cinematic camera as on 1897 or 1896 I can't remember some French people came and took cinematic shots for the Suez Canal as far as I remember
The first Cinema in the Middle east
The first silent Film in the Arab world "Zeinab"
The first spoken film in the Arab world "Zeinab" too
The first colored film in the Arab world
Surely it deserves its title "The Hollywood of the East" no other Arab country national cinema had achieved what it achieves from Success and here I don't talk about success in Film festivals like Cannes , hell no ,I am talking about the public respond ,the people acceptance is the most important factor
The Egyptian Cinema is the gate of stardom in the Arab world and despite all what is said about ,I am honored that we got something like it
Today the Egyptian critics chose the best 15 films in the history of the Egyptian Cinema and what a dull list , sad tragic dramatic films ,yes these movies are great but they are so ....so dull ,they can make you depressed, the only cheerful film in the list was "Ghazal El-Bant" a black comedy in fact
You know one of my favorite films is "Between Heaven and earth" which was directed by Salah Abu Seif ,the father of Egyptian realistic cinema and was written by Naguib Mahfouz in the early 1960s , a political comedy it reminds me with the Blake Edwards film
Another important political comedy also made by Abu Seif and Mahfouz "The start" or "Badia"
Now I will leave you with this music piece by Omar Kharyat "100 years of
Cinema" and with this personal collection of Egyptian vintage posters ,enjoy
your time
Strangely I never like this actor , but I was surprised when I found this video ,this is very rude to describe your political opponents this way ,very disgusting and vulgar !!
BY the way for those who don't know Affleck studied Middle east history in Harvard university along with some Arabic lessons
Also his wife the Alias star Jennifer Garner is going to cause some stress in the Arab world next September with the release of her film along with Jamie Fox "The Kingdom" which is about a group of F.B.I agents investigating a series of murder and terrorist attacks against the Foreigners in Riyadh ,in IMDB they identify KSA as a hostile country !!
To tell you the truth I never like Affleck especially after Giggly and I don't know why on earth Garner would leave Michael Vartan for that rude person !!
At last I saw the movie itself legally already I was from the lucky people who put their hands on an original copy from
the Novel before its banning whether literally or cinematically in Egypt
I bought a pirate copy from the movie from few months in order to watch it , but to say the truth many things happened in life made me forget that there was a film CD over my shelf with that name till I found that it was going to be aired exclusively in the middle east through the Showtime network in its Pay for view Home cinema service and I just couldn't resist the temptation.
I won't speak about the novel or the plot but I will speak about the movie
I think it is good despite that there were some difference between the film script and the novel, some I understand why and some other I don't understand why like in the end that Sophie will discover that she is not the grand daughter of the Louvre Curator, also I don't understand why they neglect the surveillance room that French Police would find in Sir Leigh's Chateau !!
Silas is still my favorite character assassin and I think he is one of the most complicated assassin characters in
western literature
I love Audrey Tautoue ,seriously since Amilie and this sweet french girl is my favorite
Tom Hanks ,well I don't need to speak about him ,his name is enough ,by the way he is very popular in Egypt thanks to the master piece of Forest Gamp
In the end I think Ron Howard and Tom Hanks were right to go on for angels and demons to make a series its hero not a super macho Bond type man but a man of Science called Robert Langdon ,a cryptology professor who fears from closed places and a history policeman
"Destino" in Spanish means "Destiny" in English, big word with a great meaning. And it is also a name of a film that brought two big names in the world of Arts
Walt Disney of the Animation Art
Salvador Dalí of the Painting Art
The work on this short animation started in year 1945 ,it was n't shown until 2003 oh yes it was a long time.
Despite it is cartoon movie produced by Disney in the end yet it is not for children ,or in another words Children and even some adults won't understand it easily after all it is Dali´s symbolism from the start to the end of the short animation
What I think well from short clip available online , I see a girl , a dancer who aviods and escapes big eyes ,these big eyes that take off her dress and she tries to protect her body from those eyes ,well I guess these eyes are the people
Well I don't know ,yet I know it looks different and beautiful
