Some people in the world believe that our great pyramid in Giza along with our great monuments were not built by our great ancestors the ancient Egyptians , you know the infamous two alternative theories : They were built by Jews enslaved by the heartless Pharaohs or they were built by extraterrestrial civilization.
I am not going to waste my time and yours in debunking the X-Files theory because I think it is underestimating the human mind intelligence.
But I am going to discuss briefly the first theory , the most famous in the Zionist world , already I received a comment in an old post attacking us "the Egyptians" saying that our great symbol "the Pyramids" are not ours !!
Well here is my brief answer :
First of all Here is the Wikipedia page about The great Pyramid of Giza ,it includes enough information about the Pyramid for non experts , also it was made by non Egyptians and of course it is revised and updated according to the newest archeological findings about the Pyramid
Second from the official website of world Famous Dr. Zahi Hawas , his own article regarding the Builders of the Pyramids based upon archeological findings .
Third please use your logic here , the Pyramids of Giza were built in the Old Kingdom , Prophet Joseph ,his brothers and their tribes came and lived in Egypt in the middle Kingdom , Prophet Moses was in the new Kingdom , the slavery of Jews is believed to be during the Ramses II era "There is no archeological evidence ,it is based on religions interruption" , during that time the Jews and also the Egyptian Believers were enslaved to build the cities that glorified the name of Ramses , the alleged city the Jews built was in North Delta ,some believe it was in Sharqia , this city was drowned during the Nile Flood , you will not believe how many cities remains were found in that area in last years by the foreign archeological expeditions. The only pyramids that were built by Pharaohs in the new kingdom were by the 26th Dynasty aka the Nubian Pharaohs and they built them in North of Sudan.
Look I am not like Zahi Hawas who considers exodus was a fairy tale "It was not announced in Egypt for fear of religious reaction" ,I am a Muslim and I believe that Pharaoh of the Exodus regardless of who was ; was an infidel cursed dictator who is currently in hell , I feel ashamed from what had happened ,I am a Muslim and in the Quran the Exodus story was repeated over and over to remind people about how ignorant and arrogant a ruler can be , I believe in Quran and thus I know that the Pharaoh was wrong and the Jews were right and my only condolence is that time there were Egyptian believers like Wizards of the Pharaoh who believed in God and the great Egyptian Queen , the mother who adopted Moses and was crucified for her belief in God , the wife of the Pharaoh whose was mentioned in our Quran along with the Virgin Mary.
Still I am getting sick and tired from all that nonsense about the Pyramids and Jews , it is not about anti Semitic, it is about history and accuracy.
I am sorry but this is an Egyptian Pyramid was built by Egyptian hands , was planned by Egyptian minds and mostly important it is on Egyptian land
I hope that modest post here had debunked that infamous Zionist claim
Now this is the third part from our trip with the time magazine covers we started here and there . At trip with history, politics and Art .
We stopped at the year 1970 , an important year in the history of the Arab world not only Egypt when President Nasser suddenly died in a critical time , Israeli invasion for the Arab lands and a Palestinian-Jordanian mini war going on and one question "Who is going to fill Nasser's vacancy ??' Yes according to the fact President Nasser chose Anwar El-Sadat to be his first vice president beside another 2 vice presidents ,El-Sadat became the the third President to Egypt.President El-Sadat who had one hell of a history pre-1952 coup managed through the years after the coup to keep a low profile for himself and I guess it was a smart thing from him to do so because he realized that there would be a deadly conflict on the leadership in the revolution council .Keeping a low profile made him like a riddle inside and outside ,he was regarded as weak puppet in the hands of the centers of Power till he surprised the Egyptians and the whole world with his corrective revolution on the 15th of May 1971 to get rid from all those anti-Sadat and Pro-Soviet in a single move
The world especially the west did not understand the move or understand what policy Anwar El-Sadat would work with, he was the riddle of the middle East ,the Underrated Heir who proved to be above all the expectations
President El-Sadat made his first appearance on the cover of the time on the 17th of May 1971 , just two days after from the corrective movement he made . He was the third president and the fourth leader to appear on the cover of the time . That cover was very special , an illustration of Cartoon showing him like Sphinx in front of th pyramids , Sadat's head on the body of a lion and on the left side there was a ribbon written on it "The Middle east Riddle" , a very perfect cover to drew the attention of the reader who did not know who the Sadat was , a riddle that need to be understood in the middle east
After 3 years President Sadat appeared for the second time on June 24 ,1974 with Preisdent Nixon in a photo from the huge public reception the first American President received in Cairo and I think it would be the last , Nixon was the first American president to visit Egypt,Cairo since the famous visit of Roosevelt to the Suez Canal and his meeting with king Farouk.Already that visit was a bright point in the life of Nixon , the Americans are officially back in the heart of the Arab world after years of Soviet domination ,regardless of the claims of the Nasserists and Egyptian Communists ,President Nixon was received by huge welcome of the Egyptian people for the fact that they got sick from the Soviets "With my all respect to the leftists ,history is history". The Cover was a photo taken by Michele Laurant
The following year Sadat appeared on the cover of the magazine for the third time on April 7th 1975 , this time he was not alone , he was with other leaders from kings, prime ministers and Presidents of the World ,the cover story , which was more a whole section was about America and the world , mostly about King Faisal who was killed that year ,his death was not an easy thing , President Sadat was mentioned in three articles in that issue , the first about the death of the Saudi King , the second was a short report about the relations between the Soviets and the Arabs specifically President Sadat who was still counting on their arms and the third which was the most important of them about the Kissigner negotiations between Egypt and Israel and what went wrong in it. Those who appeared on the cover beside Sadat King Faisal 'May Allah bless his soul', Kissinger,Rabin and Thieu of South Vietnam then.
President Sadat appeared again in the same year on the cover of the time on June 9th year 1975 , a very important year on all level , the beginning of the open doors policy , the relations with the Americans and also the relations with the soviets, the opening of Suez canal on the 5 th of June and surely the talks between Cairo and ... "The magazine wickedly used the word Jerusalem despite it was n't and is not the capital of Israel yet" in brief it was one hell of watershed Week in Cairo . Another illustration for President Sadat , this time his face is well drawn in close up with the words "The Quest of Peace" Sadat was already for Peace but on what terms and how !!?? Sadat was the first Egyptian leader to appear twice in the same year till then ,that was the fourth time for him to be on the cover
Well year 1975 did not finish and President Sadat broke the record and appeared for the third time in the same year and the fifth in total on the cover of the magazine on August 25th in a very beautiful comic illustration by Jack Davis portraying Kissinger and a pigeon of Peace on his shoulder trying to make President Sadat and Rabin Shake hands , Sadat and Rabin both were wearing their military suites referring to their military background and rivalry and if you noticed Rabin got bandages over his hand and Sadat got a plaster on his forehead, both were skeptical while shaking the perfect illustration for a famous cartoonist to describe the cover story of Kissinger's visits between the two Countries to bring Peace in the middle east for the first time and the obstacles he was facing from both sides
After 2 years President Sadat made in August 8th 1977 it to the cover again for the sixth time ,yet this time he was not alone for the second time ,he was with other leaders from the world in a beautiful comic illustration , already he was not the center of the cover story that was represented graphically , the center of the cover story was President Jimmy Carter and his foreign policy in the Oval room dealing with the powers in the world and issues whether the Soviets or Europe or the middle east or Asia , it made him like Daniel in the den of the lions and that was the idea of the comic ,the foreign policies of the ex-Georgia Governor who was much less experienced in foreign affairs were under question, Carter came to a powerful world ,with powerful players in foreign policies who were like lions ,fierce lions whether West German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt who described Carter as a faith healer or Egypt's President who looked in a Sphinx position for the second time , looking in a smart wicked way admired already the policy of Carter whom was called by an Egyptian official "An Arab more than the Arabs" and it seemed that it is true ,already Carter took a legacy from Kissinger that was the Peace talks between Arabs and Israelis especially with the arrival of Menachem Begin to power in Israel appearing less willing to comprise for Peace , he was another lion to be dealt with , of course those beside the two lions of the east U.S.S.R 'S Brezhnev and China's Hua Kuo-Feng
Two months Later President had to be on the time Cover again after his historical visit to Israel ,the historical visit was the cover story of the time November 28th 1977 , the sacred mission of President Sadat to return back the land and to bring Peace breaking the ice by himself, that was the seventh time and President Sadat broke the record
And if you think that would be his last appearance on the time cover in that year , you are wrong because he appeared for the 9th time on the Time that year for the third time in the same year on September 25th, he appeared in another comic illustration face to face with Begin ,the way to Peace was not easy for sure and the two parties who started the negotiations on the 17 of September in Camp David had suffered during that time till they appeared on the screen of TV Shaking hands and signing the camp David accords which were backbones of a Peace treaty between Egypt and Israel , President Carter's vision of Peace came true, still the cover made them more like rivals not Peace partners , you can feel it
President Sadat after that did not appear on the cover of the magazine alive again , but as a dead man after three years in 1981 in one of the most beautiful illustrated cover of the time ever , Simple yet full of meaning , the cover of the issue published on October 19,1981 after his assassination on the 6th of October from the same year, his assassination was the topic of the wonderful illustration , his face in front and in the background what happened in the Sad parade , the last public army Parade Egypt has seen till ,the exact sequence of events as it was seen on TV ,the air fights , the military vehicle and the attack of the terrorists on the podium. inside the edition there were about 9 articles about him whether sadness about his loss as a man of Peace ,how he changed the history, his passion for Peace, the American grief on their Egyptian Friend , the concerns after his death and the faithful pupil who took his place with a short interview with Mubarak 48 hours after the incident of course that was beside the international reaction .That time was the 10th time
President Sadat after that did not appear on the cover of the magazine alive again , but as a dead man after three years in 1981 in one of the most beautiful illustrated cover of the time ever , Simple yet full of meaning , the cover of the issue published on October 19,1981 after his assassination on the 6th of October from the same year, his assassination was the topic of the wonderful illustration , his face in front and in the background what happened in the Sad parade , the last public army Parade Egypt has seen till ,the exact sequence of events as it was seen on TV ,the air fights , the military vehicle and the attack of the terrorists on the podium. inside the edition there were about 9 articles about him whether sadness about his loss as a man of Peace ,how he changed the history, his passion for Peace, the American grief on their Egyptian Friend , the concerns after his death and the faithful pupil who took his place with a short interview with Mubarak 48 hours after the incident of course that was beside the international reaction .That time was the 10th time
As I said that was the last time for him on the cover of the time Magazine Cover where he had appeared more than any previous or next Egyptian President , in total he appeared for 10 times from year 1971 to 1981 .He appeared Solo for five times and the other five he appeared with other leaders.Three of those covers were photographs where as the rest were illustrations.
President Sadat surely appeared all those times due to his role in the international Peace , what made him earn it and on the contrary of President Nasser he was a friend to the west yet not a weak ally but a powerful man who was ready for Peace on the basis of Land and Justice , President Sadat again was not a weak puppet like those Arab weak leaders from Presidents and Kings Now
We are still in our journey with our Egyptian Cover boys of the Time magazine since 1923 till now ,Please check the first part of the post .Now we go to the fourth Egyptian leader who appeared on the cover of the Time .
He was the first Free officer and the second President of Egypt historically and the second most Egyptian Leader who found his way to the cover of the Time through his ruling years from 1954 to 1970 . you will be amazed how he was a controversial character and you will learn how the media can turn 180 degrees because of the international polices , yes I am talking about President Gamal Abd El-Nasser whom whether you like or dislike you can't deny that he was a center of news in the world and in his time there were many events ,international crisis and wars in only 16 years. The relationship between Nasser and the foreign press with the Time in particular was strange , I mean they would attack him and on the same time they would publish a long interview with him !! The strange thing which puzzles me is that I know that Nasser had special departments for monitoring what was published abroad whether in the Egyptian Presidency or in the Foreign ministry "My grand mother's brother was a head for it for couple of years during the Nasserite era" not to mention of course the intelligence , so I do not know how he used to welcome them for interview anyhow may be it was an intelligent move to communicate with the outside world specifically the WestThe relation between them was an example of how the American administration considered Nasser ,it was like a
mirror of reflection to the phases in the Egyptian-American relations during that time
The first time was on Sep. 26, 1955 they considered Nasser revolutionary with a very beautiful illustration for the
young officer and behind him a beautiful illustration of ancient Egypt Wall that looks like a wall from one of the Karnak Temples , representing Egyptians behind him
The second time was on August 27, 1956 and the revolutionary turned in to a Counterpuncher dictator during the Suez Crisis after the Nationalization of the Suez Canal, now he became the new villain of the western world , you only have to see the cover and how the cartoonist illustrated Nasser and compare it with 1955 cover to know the difference in the attitudes and view , the close up look
with a devilish smile and big hawk nose not to mention the ancient Egyptian Wall behind representing an Egyptian soldiers from Ancient Egypt holding riffles and swords , it was full of meanings with direct messages , the difference from the previous less than year issue is amazing .The cartoonist who made that cover was Ernest Hamlin Baker
The third time was on July 28,1958 , after two years from the Suez Issue the Counterpuncher dictator became an adventurer in the middle east whether with his new United Arab Republic or the crisis in Lebanon 1958 ,the marines came to the middle east ,still the illustration was different than the one in 1956 , first of all the it was an photograph representing Nasser and the Egyptian Old green flag that was going to be changed later ,here Nasser was no longer wearing his military suite and for the first time you find a normal smile on his face , in 1955 the cartoonist did not show him smiling and in 1956 he had that cartoon devilish smile , but in 1958 he had this calm smile another remark Nasser name on the cover was no longer associated with Egypt like in 1955 or in 1956 may be because then he became the President Of UAE . The Photograph was taken by famous photojournalist David Douglas Duncan
Now after 5 years Nasser made it for the fourth time appearing on the cover of the time on March 29, 1963,the epic of the Pan Arabism ,again he returned as Nasser of Egypt yet he became the most influential man in the Arab world , sending his armies to Yemen , supporting revolutions here and there, his allies were like the pain in the ass , the pan Arabism dream from the Gulf to the ocean and his alliance with the Soviet Union were like the pain in the ass for America and its allies in the Arab world . The adventurer from 5 years ago became the Camel driver , leading the Arab world I guess .The cover was another illustration influenced with the history of ancient Egypt ,Nasser as a pharaoh standing with side by side with Sphinx , there are three men with sticks walking in the shadow I do not know who they were if you have idea please tell me , the very interesting part in the cover that time was the Arabic proverb on the right corner of the magazine "Keep your tents separate and bring your heart together" already I do not in Arabic a proverb like this but in the end I do not know all the proverbs , the proverb is about the Arab unity of course by the way .That cover was drawn by illustrator Robert Vickery
After another 9 years He made it again for the fifth time on the cover of the time on May. 16, 1969 ,yes after the defeat of the Six days . That issue included a long interview with him made by two journalists one of them was the managing editor of the time then himself in Nasser's house. There was another report about the general conditions of the Arab world Egypt in particular after the defeat which affected the whole Arabic world painfully ,not only the countries of the front, also if was after the arrttiation war between Egypt and Israel. The cover was very powerful Nasser was illustrated like A stone statue behind him a stone wall ,in a very powerful way with the title a deadlock in the middle east , strong and sad look in the eyes of Nasser of Egypt who was no longer a dictator or adventurer but a president of Egypt. The cartoonist who made that cover was Louis Glanzman
That was the last time Nasser would appear alive on the Time as the following sixth time , the last time he appeared on the international magazine after his death on October 12,1970 in a graphical cover made of combined a photo for Nasser and other photos of Egypt of Abu Simbel II temple ,from the war , with two shapes of Crescent representing the Islamic identity of the Egypt and the Arab world with red background , I do not know if they chose red on purpose referring to the alliance with the soviets of what. Nasser was not an easy politician or leader and what he made that was considered a legacy was questioned in that critical time in whether to stay or vanish and the most important question to the west then who fill his vacuum . This cover was designed by Lawrence Lowry
President Nasser appeared 6 times in his 16 years rule of Egypt ,4 illustrated covers and two photographic covers. The covers presented the troubled relation with the west and specifically the United States .
This is the end of the second ,there will be a third part covering the rest of the Egyptian leaders who appeared on the cover of the time
I am so so so sorry because in the previous posts I said that I did not find the Autobiography of President Mohamed Naguib in English in Amazon.com , well I was wrong and here is the book under the title
"Egypt's Destiny : A Personal statement by Mohamed Naguib"
here it is and yes I am making an ad for it because it deserves
I am sorry but I liked sir Isaac Newton more when he was the master of prior of Zion !!
We are all speaking about the Egyptian and Syrian losses in the six days war 40th anniversary and forgetting the most important loss of all in that war Jerusalem ,old Jerusalem , for this I decided not to speak about our failure to protect the holy city again but instead I decided to share with you something I found from quite a time and I think it is great
The Panoramic inside view of Al-Aqsa Mosque , the furthermost Mosque, the third holiest Place for the Muslims where they should Pilgrim to
Most people don't know how the mosque looks from inside , already they are confused the Mosque , the Dome of the rock , the famous trick move one of my Christian friend made me realize from several years that the Israelis intended to make us forget about the real Mosque ,concentrate on the Dome of the rock as if it were Al-Aqsa Mosque at least for the young generations
Anyhow here is a link from the Visual Dhikr graphics company please enjoy the virtual trip because it is so beautiful and great
Also don't forget not to share as many people as you can , this is not a Muslim thing , more a curious thing to know more about the reasons of the conflict , on what there is a big fight
We all know what happened on the Egyptian front from defeat and reasons of defeat crystal clear but the mother of all Mysteries in the 1967 war is in Syria
You see the Golan Heights are very fortress from the geographical point of view; they are hills that can’t be easily invaded especially if there are military presence and resistance there which actually were not as expected there back in June 1967 not to mention the sudden withdrawal order with a fight given to the Syrian army [1]
According to historians the Syrian forces in the Golan were:
1. A reserve brigade
2. The fifth army
3. The ninth army
The fifth and ninth armies were already there to protect the hills from the IDF, because it was not the first time there was war because of the hills in 1950 or 1951 there was a small attempt by the Israelis to invade the Golan that was stopped by the Syrian army then.
The rest of the army units and regiments didn’t fight in the battle and didn’t fire a single bullet, the rest of the troops stayed to protect the regime like the 3rd army not from the Israelis as I believe but from any attempted coup or revolution.
Another Mystery is the announcement of Hafiz El-Assad the minister of defense and the head of the air forces [2]then the president later the fall of the Quintiara city on the 10th of June 1967 exactly at 9: 30 AM in the announcement no.66 even before the IDF reached to it!!
Excerpt from the announcement no.66
There is a great fight in the Quintiara city and its outskirts...
The problem was there wasn’t fight or one single Israeli in the city back then!!
I don’t know but how he knew it was going to fall as may be there could be a powerful resistance in it to hold back the IDF forces!! I always thought that in the military regimes and also democratic ones which are living war usually the news of the cities fall under the mercy of the enemy are carefully announced so it wouldn’t affect on the people’s spirits!!
Former Syrian Ambassador in Paris then and regime opponent now “Sami El-Genndy”[3] was amazed in Paris when he saw on TV the Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations announcing the fall of city and the arrival of the IDF to Damascus in front of the Security Council, of course the Israeli Ambassador denied these strange allegations because simply his arm forces didn’t reach the city!!
Later he knew from the Syrian foreign Minister “Ibrahim El-Makhous” that it was a skimp made to scare the world in order to save Damascus!! Of course it was a silly skimp as the world won’t fear for the fall of any Arab city whether a village or a capital, the world always believes Israel, I can’t believe this kind of thinking seriously.
Forget about that diplomat he may hate the Baath regime so much after being one of the famous leaders in the party and thus he could say anything to defame them what about the testimonies of the officers who were in the Golan during the war.
I found in the article of Mr. Khalid Al-Ahmed a testimony of a reserve officer he didn’t mention his name and I think we all know why because may be not only the reserve officer would be missing but he entire family would be if they knew his name.
According to this testimony the reserve officer was having breakfast with couple of soldiers when he heard the announcement 66 through the Damascus radio station, I forgot to say that this officer was in the city of Quintiara at the same moment .As soon as they had heard the announcement the officer and his soldiers left the breakfast to search in the streets for the enemy that succeeded in invading the small city but they found none!! When the officer returned back to his unit, he found out that his superiors had already fled away as soon as they heard the announcement even without looking the window; it seemed that they trusted El-Assad so much that they believed him while he was in Damascus where as they were in “Quintiara” itself, man the Israelis should win us back then!!
Ok may be that unknown John Doe Syrian officer is also an enemy for the regime and the party what about a minister from the cabinet back then itself!!
Minister of Health “Abdel Rahman El-Akta” told one of his friends that he had been on the Syrian front in the Golan when the announcement was aired doing a field inspection visit and that he thought there was kind of a mistake and thus he called the minister of defense El-Assad to tell him that the “Quintiara” didn’t fall yet , instead of thanks for the joyful news the minister was met with rains from the most dirty insults[4] from the kind of “F**k” and “Son of B***” in the early morning with threats if he didn’t shut the F**k up and mind his own F**king business and in front of this lion[5] anger ,the minister apologized !!
You know something if you read the announcement no.66 in June in the language of numbers it would be 6/66 that is 666, what an omen!!
Already the whole world back then was amazed when it saw the Syrian defenses in Golan on how the Syrians left it without any considerable losses
Look to what the Time correspondent said about the Golan in August 1967 describing the Golan defense lines as fortress and powerful wondering how the Syrian could leave it so easily !!
Another incidents not testimonies that should be mentioned, they are very interesting me, number one was that the army commander returned back the emergency food supplies of the forces in the Golan before the war with two weeks to be replace with new, the problem was that the new supplies didn’t arrive in two weeks till it was war and Soldiers were without emergency food supplies!!
Another incident the families of the high rank officers were deported from the Quintiara along with their furniture before the war despite the threats of the city governor back then “Abd El-Halim Khaddam”[6] that he would kill anyone who would leave the city !!
The worst part in that historical riddle was that the regime and its ruling government left to “Homs” for fear “Damascus” would fall too
Already if you invade the Golan Heights completely, the road will be open to you to invade “Damascus” because the distance between it and
the city of “Quintiara” is only 40 kilometers but according to the historians the rest or the majority of the army was in the capital protecting the regime, but as I referred earlier not from the IDF but from any expected coup or public revolution.
It seems the Military regime in Syria was not willing to fight at all , not to fire a single bullet or defend one inch of its land I am afraid with my all respect but this is the conclusion any one would reach from reading the history , they were not willing to fight despite they were behind the escalation of the events till reached to the level of war , of course Israel anyway had planed to make war sooner or later then but the Syrian regime gave them the service of their lives , not only they entered with the Israelis war but they had dragged also Egypt and Jordan .
I don’t blame them as I said Israel was planning for war sooner or later just like in the case of the Lebanon War July 2006 ,they were only waiting for the excuse but on the contrary of Hezbollah ,the Syrian regime back then didn’t fight well ,sorry didn’t fight back at all !!
Another mystery from the mysteries in that war was the Syrian Air forces
As you see the IAF started its attack on Egypt since 5 AM on the 5th of June, all the air fighters were in the battle nothing left to protect Israel and its airports except 12 air fighters
So if the Arabic air forces from the Syrian, the Iraqi and the Jordanian had attacked Israel after or between 5 AM to 10 AM, it could have destroyed the remaining of the IAF and the Israeli airports, and intercepted the returning fleets of the air fighters coming back from Egypt with ammunition or fuel and thus it would be easy to destroy them
Imagine how the course of the battle and its result would have changed if that had taken place, the course of the history would have change.
I don’t know or have an idea why it didn’t take place, already historically the only Arabic air forces attack which was the Syrian took place at 12 PM Damascus local time and it was only targeting the oil refinery in Haifa!! 12 PM was exactly after one hour when the IAF finished its job in destroying the EAF completely in complete 6 hours from 5 AM to 11 PM!!
It would be very ridiculous to know that the Syrians didn’t start their attack because they were confident from “Sawt El-Arab” radio reports with the voice of Ahmed Said bringing the joyful news that the Egyptian forces destroyed 40 Israeli air forces !
It is not only me the Egyptian citizen whom after 40 years is amazed about what happened with the SAF which its high commander Hafiz Al-Assad then in an interview before the war by couple of weeks confirmed that it was ready to erase the Israeli existence from the surface of the earth but also late King Hussein of Jordan himself, the king of Jordan was surprised by the Syrian reaction and he shared his surprise with the French Journalists’ interview in the book “our war with Israel” [7]
We were waiting the Syrians, as without the “MEG” we couldn’t bomb the Israeli airports and since 9.30 am I called the commandership of the SAF and their answers were that they were surprised by what happened, that their planes were not ready, their pilots were having training sessions!! They asked to give half an hour then an hour, in 10:45 AM they asked for another hour and we said yes, then in 12 AM we couldn’t wait any longer, and so the Iraqi Air fighters took off along with out Jordanian air fighters in the mission and thus we didn’t start our operation except after 12 am[8]
The SAF made us miss a golden chance we could have used to for the Arabs’ sake, if the Syrians hadn’t hesitated, we would have started our operations in earlier time and we could have intercepted the enemy bombers in their way to return to their bases after bombing the Egyptian Air bases without enough fuel or ammunition, and we would have surprised them while they were on ground falling their tanks for another round , if that had happened ,it would have changed the course of the battle and results were switched.
Time only will reveal an explanation for several things but what I am sure of is that the SAF were not ready for the 5 of June war and the Israelis’ calculations were right when they left only 12 air fighters to protect their skies where the rest of the IAF to hit Egypt !!
I won’t speculate what all these mysteries mean from treason that was taking place in the Syrian regime, already this can go perfectly with the warning King Hussein sent to President Nasser before their meeting that he had got information that some members in the Syrians were working for some parties and that they wanted Egypt to be involved in the war as a set up
It is just like a puzzle for me you can bring its pieces to gather in order to have the picture completed, the problem here you find an ugly shocking picture in the end that would certainly will cause in the fall of false idols who ruled countries for decades by the name of patriotism by the charges of the grand treason.
I would refer here to something I read and post about from couple of months concerning the huge secret president Anwar Sadaat shared with his personal doctor Mahmoud El-Gama’, a secret that President Nasser was aware and shared with Sadaat, that Secret was …. The Golan Heights were sold and its price was paid
[1] I always hear from people in Egypt that the IDF didn’t fire on bullet in the invasion of the Syrian Golan because it didn’t meet any forces
[2] I don’t know how he kept the two positions at the same time; usually the head of the Air forces is promoted to minister of defense to leave his place for another one!!
[3] In his book “Piece of Bread”
[4] Just little remark the Syrian people has a very dirty diction for insults and it is something regular in the Syrian street despite their love to poetry!!
[5] El-Assad means lion in Arabic
[6] Now the triangle is complete “El-Assad, Talas and Khaddam”
[7] Published by “Dar-El-Nahr” of Lebanon , one of the most famous and prestigious publishing house in the Arab world
[8] After the complete destruction of the EAF
This is very interesting depressing report from the Archive of the economist back to 1967 ,I think they did not do a report about how it was going in Egypt !!
From the archive | We just want to teach them a lesson | Economist.com
The most humiliating part in it was the taxi driver part "from Tel Aviv to Cairo "
But you know this arrogance was the one that brought them down in 1973
Short notes:
The drums of the war in the Middle East began to be heard in the mid 1960s exactly in the end of the 1966 when Israel declared its plans to redirect the River Jordan which passes through Syria and Jordan, so then Syria and Jordan would have lost very important water resource.
Of course the Egyptian leadership under Nasser would not leave Syria alone, in fact in my personal opinion things got escalated thanks to the Egyptian interfere ,I know very well that Israel planned for that war from long time and I think they wanted to provoke Nasser enough to push him in to war as they know very well he wouldn’t leave a chance to prove that he and his army were the protectors of the Arab world , they wouldn’t push him if they didn’t know that his army was strong really to stand against the IDF
The tension began to increase more and more when the Syrian regime claimed that Israel was gathering its arm forces on the Syrian-Israeli borders at the beginning of the May 1967 despite the Israeli denial, the soviets confirmed this fact and thus the region seemed to be heading towards war.
General Amin El-Howdy[1] was sent by president Gamal Abd El-Nasser to check if there were Israeli forces on the Syrian borders like the Syrians and the soviets claim in the mid of the May, during his visit he met with Col. Abd El-Karim El-Genndy, the head of the Syrian intelligence who confirmed to him that there was no gathering for the Israeli forces on the borders!!
Ironically some of the former Syrian leaders just like former Prime Minister Youssef Zuaiyin and also from the present members of the regime there are blaming King Hussein to be the one who made President Nasser to involve in the war despite the late King warned Nasser from the possibility that some members in the Syrian regime would set him up!!
According to Dr. Zuaiyin‘s memories “The British made King Hussein deceive president Nasser!! As they had promised the king that Israel wouldn’t invade one single meter from his kingdom!!” I don’t know what this Baath veteran is trying to fool, what British role he is mentioning now for God Sake we all know that the British role in the region in 1967 was over and the American role replaced him to counter the soviet role!!
The man completes and says that they were shocked in Syria when they knew that Egypt and Jordan signed the common defense treaty, well the Doctor may not be aware that king warned Nasser from the Syrians!!
Runaway Pride
When El-Assad announced the fall of the city of Quintiara even before the arrival of the IDF to it, the Syrian militaries ran away from it and didn’t bother to stand and defend the city, the withdrawal order came!! The first to escape were the officers with high ranks who became later big names in the political military history of Syria like Rafaat El-Assad!!
For example:
On the 8th of June 1967 General “Ahmed El-Suwadany” who later became the high commander of the Syrian army took off his ranks and clothes ,disguised himself as a shepherd and went to the village of “Noy” which is a couple of miles of the city “Quintiara”
The commander of the front Col. “Ahmed El-Mire “followed him, riding a donkey!! Of course some officers denied this incident which was mentioned internationally in Patrick Seale’s biography about President Al-Assad and that Seale took this piece
information from the people in the streets of Syria , but I think it is not the guilt of Seale as he found an interesting story the Syrians are telling to each other generation from generation, some of those officers go beyond this and claim that it is a conspiracy to destroy the spirit of the Syrian people
But there are other officers who confirm the popular shameful story, as according to them when the withdrawal order came it was not a tactical withdrawal but a qualitative withdrawal, just to get the hell as soon as possible, leave your arterially behind and thus the general didn’t have much options to fast from his withdrawal except by disguise himself as a peaceful shepherd
The man himself who died in 2006 didn’t confirm or deny, silent he was regarding it and thus I guess it could be true
Anyhow, “Mire” wasn’t alone as he was followed by several high commanders, officers and ranks including Rafaat El-Assad, the brother of Hafiz El-Assad himself!!
The ruling cabinet and the rest of regime in Damascus itself packed its bags and took the money from the Syrian Central bank and headed to Homs as they were certain that Damascus was going to fall in the hands of the Israelis!!
They left it alone with its people and fled away with no intention to defend it, a typical Baath act that reminds me with what Saddam and his army had done in the invasion of Baghdad, the sudden disappearance from the capital
Imagine if Damascus had fallen, well my imagination tells me that the Israelis were wise enough not to invade it because they didn’t want to convert their victory in to defeat because the people not the regime would stand against them!!
[1] This information was mentioned in his Memories ,also he mentioned it on Al-Jazeera channel in the date of 27/8/2001, General Howdy at that time during his visit wasn’t the head of the intelligence yet
